My 2025 Review
A review of my personal goals for 2025 and industry insights

My 2025 was a whirlwind! However, I can't complain. My personal goal was to take a leap of faith and challenge myself. And boy did I challenge myself!
I ended the year feeling so blessed and accomplished! After suffering a post-COVID layoff, I started a new role as a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst. I worked on endpoints and cloud security. Getting back into the game felt so rewarding.
I attended the RSAC conference in San Francisco. It was amazing to catch up on the new tools of 2025. AI was the hot topic of course. Trends often overlook function and highlight profit. For vendors and stakeholders, profit in the workforce grows with employee productivity. This is measured by how much work employees can complete and how long each task takes. I demoed lots of solutions that highlighted AI tools that automate processes. However, focus on configuration and analysis in product demos was missing last year.
In August, I attended Hacker Summer Camp. I was able to volunteer at Squadcon for BlackGirlsHack with Women in Security and Privacy. I love going to Defcon to play with some hacking tools. My favorite is the lockpicking village. I also volunteered with HAM Radio Village, helping with the Can it Ham contest. Fun times!
Accompanied by my family, I attended the Atlanta commencement for my Masters in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance in November. To God be the glory!
In December, I rested..... If you count crafting a holiday phishing simulation for all of my staff. But that's leisure for a social engineer!
XOXO, Britt
